St. Eustache- May 27-28; Schouten takes 2 wins at Double Header!

Rounds two and three of the Women's Cup Challenge were held at Autodrome St. Eustache this past weekend and Vicki was stronger than ever, coming home with 2 first place finishes in the Women's Cup Challenge double header!

It was a great weekend for riding as the sun was shining and the temperatures were warm!

Saturday morning practice went well and Vicki took the morning  to work on her entry and exit speeds around the corners and was feeling comfortable on the rather bumpy racetrack.

A qualifying heat race was held Saturday afternoon. Vicki started the qualifier strong and it was a foreshadowing of what was to come for Sunday’s races. After a solid start, Vicki led the novice women into turn one. She held onto the Expert women in front of her for a number of laps and led the novice women’s qualifier from start to finish, gaining pole position for both of Sunday’s races.

Round #2 of the Women’s Cup Challenge was the first race of the afternoon on Sunday. Vicki took her position on the pole of the Novice Women’s grid. She had a strong start and led the Novice women into turn one, closing in quickly on the Expert Women’s field. However, by turn two Vicki was overtaken by a competitor. She battled hard through several turns and managed to regain her first place position after braking hard on the back straightaway. From here, Vicki held onto a comfortable lead and managed to take home the checkered flag in the first race of the afternoon!

The second race of the afternoon (Round #3) was much the same as the first. Once again Vicki took the pole position for the Novice Women’s grid and had a great start once again and she led the Novice women into turn one. Once again, she was overtaken in turn two by a competitor but managed to catch her competition on the brakes in the back stretch to regain the lead. It was a challenging race as her competition started to close on her, but Vicki battled hard and managed to retain the lead and take her second checkered flag of the day! Back-to-back wins for Vicki Schouten!
